Join MYP for our 19th summer camp!
This summer, Maryville Young Players will bring Newsies to life in Maryville MO! Disney's Newsies JR. is a 60-minute version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. All young people in the northwest Missouri area who are interested in the performing arts are welcome and invited to join the MYP fam! Students who are entering second grade through ninth grade in the Fall 2026 are eligible to participate.

Camp this year will be held July 7th- July 23rd, with performance weekend July 24th- July 26th. Lead characters will have a few additional pre-camp rehearsals shortly before camp starts. Campers will attend every weekday, either from 1:30pm - 3:30pm or 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m., depending on cast assignment. ​Rehearsals and performances will be at the Lee and Nina Schneider Center for the Performing Arts at Maryville High School.

The camp fee is $90 per camper, with a $10 discount for additional participants from the same family. This fee covers not only participation in the full production, but also includes a camp t-shirt, certificate, medal, and dress rehearsal picnic and cast pizza party. A limited number of camp scholarships are available - just mark your interest on the registration form!​​
